The leaves are changing, the weather is cooler, and the holidays are quickly approaching. That can only mean one thing: it’s Fall! There is no better place to discover and celebrate the beauty of Autumn than on the East Coast, specifically the Mid-Atlantic. With Rollins Park Apartments situated perfectly just north of Washington, D.C., we experience all of the benefits of the Fall season. We love to celebrate everything Fall here at Rollins Park Apartments and this year is no different. From our Halloween party to our Facebook Fall Photo Contest, residents at Rollins Park get to participate and experience everything Fall has to offer.

On October 30 we hosted a fun and fantastic Halloween Party at our central recreation community, Rollins Congressional Club, which was free for all of our residents. The party hosted ghoulish games, freaky fun, and frightening food. Residents and their families enjoyed a moon bounce, Witch hat toss game, Roller Pumpkin Bowling, Pin the Bow Tie on Bones, and Ultimate candy grabber which the children loved! Many people love the changing of the seasons but one standout favorite is the Fall. With the crisp fresh air, colorful leaves, warm comfort food, and football season, there’s not much to not like about this glorious season. Here at Brighton Village we love the Fall just as much as everyone else and with a prime location North of Washington, D.C., we’re situated in the perfect place to enjoy everything and anything Fall related.

To celebrate Fall and the beginning of the Holiday season, we hosted our Annual Halloween Party for residents and their families. Everyone who attended was able to enjoy ghoulish games, refreshments, freaky fun, giveaways, raffles, goodie bags, and more! Attendees were encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costumes and bring a canned good item that was donated to Nourish Now, a local nonprofit organization providing food assistance to those in need. We gave away awesome prizes like gift cards to iTunes, Olive Garden, and Amazon. Everyone had a great time!

Our Halloween party was the kickoff event for our Facebook Halloween Contest! Participants can enter by uploading an image of themselves in their Halloween costume to Facebook using the caption “Halloween at Brighton Village Apartments!” and check-in at Brighton Village. We’ll be gathering the images and creating an adult costume photo album and a kids costume photo album on our Facebook page for participants to share with friends and family to encourage them to vote on their favorite costumes. It’s only 7 days until the official start of Fall. When you think of Fall many people associate it with football, crisp air, leaves changing color, and the start of the holiday season. What many people don’t think of is Fall cleaning. We’ve all heard of Spring cleaning but why not Fall cleaning? It’s the perfect time to declutter and reorganize your walk-in closet while living at a Polinger, Shannon, and Luchs property! What better time to get rid of the old and embrace the new than the changing of seasons and especially the changing of wardrobes. It’s time to ditch the shorts and flip-flops and time to embrace the sweaters and boots! Why not clean, declutter, and organize while you’re at it! Here are a few of our favorite hacks for utilizing your walk-in closet to the best of its ability:

1. Create a confined space for the small stuff.

Use a large bowl or over-the-door shoe rack to organize your leftover change, wallet, receipts, keys, hair supplies, nail polish, or even makeup. This allows for storage for items in places you wouldn’t normally think to use.

2. Repurpose a tie rack to organize necklaces and bracelets.

Order a tie rack online to hang your necklaces and bracelets. They’re perfect for storing necklaces due to their size and many prongs, originally meant for holding ties! You can put this behind hanging clothes on the wall or on the back of the closet door. The best part is that it keeps your necklaces from becoming tangled and allows for easy viewing of your entire jewelry collection for quick selection for busy mornings. It’s August so as a parent or student you know what that means! Back to school time! If you’re an undergraduate, graduate or post graduate student or the parent of a student, you know that one of the biggest obstacles when it comes to back to school time is finding the proper housing. Many universities and colleges in the Maryland and D.C. area don’t offer on-campus housing or only offer it for first year students due to campus size and capacity.
